cant burn DVDs

My system specs goes like this
Intel 845G motherboard
p4 1.8
256 ram
asus drw0804p single layer dvd writer
windows xp home without sp

i am able to burn all cds but i am unable to burn any dvds either data or movies i use nero 6.3 it will not write even an single byte to DVD i get the following error message

power calibration error

could not perform end of Disc-at-once

i tried with ashampoo burning studio it shows following error message
couldnot write to device

the drive supports firmware upgrade and also i flashe it with latest update

but the problem still persists

so wats the problem and how to solve please help me guys

i got d same nero error wid my liteon dvd riter....which dvd's r u using??

dey shud be of good quality...my prob was solved by shiftin from inferior(my case, intex) to good quality media(my case, LG, SONY)

oderwise i think it cud be a lens issue...but if its a new riter, d above mite be enuf

yes dude i was able to burn with sony media,,but no other media is working even on eurovision and moaserbaer how can i fix it sony media is too costly

Perhaps those media arent compatible with the drive. Is the Moser Baer written in gray or the usual Red and Black colors ? The gray ones are fake and wont burn

itz orginal and written in red and black also comes with packing i bought something around 10 discs its waste now as my drive writes none ,,,,

being asus company they should have fixed the problem in firmware upgrade ..i will never buy asus drives again iplanning to sell that and swith to liteon or sony
