Sorry to disappoint you but all the cards you mentioned are over 2 years old and completely worthless (especially for FEAR).
You need to increase your budget slightly and get atleast a 6600GT.

i am just lukin for something tht wud make the neighbours jealous (btw, my neighbours hav i915, i845 and crap like tht). i dont care even if it is low-end.
i heard tht the i915 has onboard HD audio (Azalia). dus tht mean tht things will sound better in my neighbour's pc? btw, my mobo is an A7NVM-266. i know it sux. but i was able to get thru to the F.E.A.R. game menu!

My budget is Rs.5 to 6 thousand. Presently the system works for one for 2 hours and then the system hangs. I have to reboot. The technician says the AGP card is getting hot quickly. Under service. If he confirms the present AGP card(nvidea chipset) is the cause for system hanging I want to change it. Game and other things are secondary. The system should work continuously.

Thanks in advance for fruitful suggestion. My knowledge about hardeware is poor.

U can get a 6600 128 MB for 5000....
Which graphics card are u replacing?

Hmm ... budget ??? Under 5k's should be 6600 .. above it should be stretched enough for a 6600GT or a 7600GS ....

In the mother board manual it is stated that "do not attempt to instal a legacy 3.3 V AGP Card". whether the suggestions made are not falling under 3.3v. Please clarify

U can get a Gforce 6600LE 256MB DDR3 card for Rs.5800. And generally the PC hangs due to overheat of the video card. The stock fan isn't enough for keeping the GPU cool enough, so you can try some passive cooling option from Vantec.
