Default ati related query....

i am thinking of getting a graphix card from the US.
i would like to know about the best in the ati radeon x series cards which are at par with nvidia 7600gt and 6600gt.
my mobo is an asus a8n-e.
will there be any prob if i use an ati card on a mobo featuring nvidia chipset?
i would also like to know which is better of the following two-
evga 7600gt or bfg 7600gt?
also how about ati radeon x1600 series?
please do tell about the support of all the above cards in india.
in need of replies at the earliest...

Ati x1800 GTO > 7600 GT
For nvidia,eVGA>Leadtek=XFX>BFG
For Ati, Powercolor is the best.

Check here for comparision between x1800 gTO and 7600 GT

It is BETTER if u use an Nvidia card with A8N-E.

I've just ordered a HIS Radeon X850 XT (for $284) from newegg.com. It surely beats a 6800 Ultra or 6800 GT anyday. IMHO this is the best you can do for a budget of < $300. I'm sure it'll serve me good until DirectX 10 based cards (and Windows Vista) are released.

I suggest you throw in a Seagate 300 GB SATA-II too. It's only $99.

Cheers,
Keith

@Keith: The HIS Radeon X850XT you mention is for only $185 + shipping, not $284.

Sorry, my bad. $284 is what I'm paying for both the card and the HD.

Using a ATI card on a nvidia chipset based mainboard or vice-versa bring out nearly the same performance that the graphic card is capable of. Like its said, these biggies havent fallen so low that they start doing that. That would be the last thing which consumers want and even for their own biz.
