Cool computer on tv

Please clarify my following doubts

1.) If we use the update driver utility to update from the web,is the drivers being downloaded from microsofts websites or the corresponding websites of the hardwares?

2) i would like to buy a television so that i could connect the tv to my computer and watch the movies stored in my harddisk or from my DVD RW.is it possiable .if yes what are the softwares/hardwares required for the same to happen

my system spec:
P4 1.8Ghz, 640MB DDR Ram,Intel 845GVAD2 original Motherboard with inbuilt graphics & sound, 80GB HDD & 40Gb HDD,Liton DVD R/RW,Samsung DVD combodrive,15" HCL Monitor. i have 2 empty PCI slots available on my system.

is it possiable to attach TV on to my system.Which make of TV would satisfy my requirement.

please reply back at the earliest.

2 use ur tv as a monitor u will require a graphics card with tv out....I don't think the 845 IGP has it.........well U can get a PCI based card for 1000 bucks but u cannot play games on the same card coz it is just a display card with TV out....,,.,.,.,,

Hi pal..

It all depends on the Video card u have.. the latest video cards have a TV out jack or slot in the card. using this slot v can purchase a corresponding cable and connect it to the TV in frm the PC.

thats it. no need any s/w.

Just a video card with TV out is sufficient.

tk care.

1)it is a thumb rule in computer industry that who makes a product has to offer service to it too.the manufacture of every part does release a update on its own.as microsoft which makes windows releases updated to windows based produts
