Re: Assembling a New PC Please Advise!
Hey ur vendor has suggested the price very high. I got Amd 3200+ with Asus A8n-e for 13k.
Go for Transcend Ram 512*2. Don't go fot Simmtronics Ram.
If u r a hardcore gamer that go for Asus A8n-sli
For speakers u can go for Altec Lansing vs3151r or Altec Lansing 5100 or Logitech z5300.
For HDD got for 160 gb Hitachi Sata II.
Don't go for Sony dvd writer. Sony writers costs high.They r rebadged as Lite-on or BenQ. Go for Liten-on or BenQ dvd writers. Why to pay more for a writer if u r getting it for low price.
Hope it helps.

Re: Assembling a New PC Please Advise!
Don't go for simmtronics RAM, they may be cheap but not good in the performance side. Buy Kingston or Transend RAM at least 512MB X 2.
Also, Altec Lansing speakers are good and value for money, go for 251i or GT-5051R, RS. 3950 and 7600 respectively.

@gary4gar
Dear, He has already mentioned his budget ..."My total budget is 50-55k."....
Also u r suggesting a 7300Gs for him which is low on gaming....
BTW If divyeshashiya is a Avid gamer, then go for the 7900GT...
or else best option will be going for wht u want ie 7600GT....
@chota_rod_waala

this is not a valid explannation....

Best suggestion would be to go for Transcend....
@samrulez

or else A8n- ewuld be the best option
@host of the post
Mentioned prices are quite high...
PM me if u want correct list of prices... Since i regularly go to lamington road....

Only one suggestion. As u mentioned that primary application is gaming i would sugeest u to go for a crt monitor than a lcd coz lcds give ghost images as i have got the feedback frm my freinds. also read the same in several tehc magazines. crts are better over lcds for gaming and movies.

Even then you are wrong. Nowadays LCD monitors are available with 8 ms or even 3 ms response time (while it was something like 25 earlier) which should not show any ghosting. But still CRTs have their own advantages.

Dear, The Motherboard u want to buy is Good. But I Advice U to go for "MSI K8N-GM2". I'm using this MB. Its a great one,with rich features and also cost low. And go for ZION RAM rather than Trancend,Kingstone or Simmtronics. I think d quality is same but u'll get 3 years of warrenty, which (According to my vendor) u'll not get in Trancend or Simmtronics. Will u.....?!! It'd be better if u go for 2 GB of RAM in 4*512 or 2*1GB pattern for perfectly match ur needs.

Transcend and Kingston are considered better than Simtronics or Zion or Hynix. And they do have three year warranty.
If you go for 2GB, dont go for 512X4 but 1GBX2. It will be better for various reasons.

It's cheaper, it works slightly faster because of lower latencies and it saves 2 RAM slots for future upgrades.

By all means 2x1GB will be better.
But pl explain the latency part. Suppose the 512 and 1GB are similar and of same brand, the only diff being the capacity.

Re: Assembling a New PC Please Advise!
The system takes more time to access data that is stored in 4 chips as compared to data stored in only 2 chips.

Re: Assembling a New PC Please Advise!
You can go for Kingston RAM. As far as speaker as concerned go for Altec Lansing.
Harddisk, Western Digital SATA 160 GB, Logitech or Microsoft keyboard & mouse -
both are good. Intel motherboard is the best option.

Re: Assembling a New PC Please Advise!
I thank all you for your advice.I have bought the mentioned computer for 45 k after some discounts. But I have not bought the speakers.I live in Jodhpur,Rajasthan and my Pc vendor sells only Quantum 5.1 speakers.I have decided to buy the speakers from Mumbai through one of my relatives.Where can I get Phiplips 5.1 HTR5000 speakers in Mumbai and also are there any good other 5.1 speakers in the 12-13k category.As I have mentioned my primary use will be watching movies and playing games.Thanks.
