Hey friends, I have an Intel original 845 motherboard with 2.8 ghz processor and 512mb ram. I was planning to make my PC Vista ready. Now to get a pci-e graphics card i will have to change my mobo, processor (new socket), ram (higher speed). this would cost me a lot. My mobo has a 4x AGP slot. Will it be ok if I buy an AGP version of the 6600GT card? But these card are for AGP 8x. So wont there be a voltage problem?
7 series require high power and it will require to use a more watts of PSU. Although 6600GT requires much power but i feel for you r motherboard this GT is enough and you need to have 1GB - 2GB RAM.
But before buying one you refer the Graphics section of "FAst Track - Troubleshoot your PC" in that all the troublshooting abt compatibility will be there.
If you r AGP slot is of this design
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" """""""""""""
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" """""""""""""
than i suppose no problem,
But he card wont fit if the design is
"""""""""""" """""""""""""""""""" """""""""""""
"""""""""""" """""""""""""""""""" """""""""""""
