cd writer problems

hello friends their is a strange problem i'am messing with these days.
Actually the culprit is my Combo drive Sony CRX-320 which is unable to write CD's.Even i can read CD's DVD's and can make Images of CD's using Nero burning Rom.
I deinstalled the Combo and reinstalled it.
Then I installed latest(7) or even the old version(5) of Nero burning Rom but nothing happens
The strange fact is that my combo drive works perfectly at my friend's PC.
I think the last option is the reinstallation of operating system?
please suggest me the solution.

there might be many issues regarding this

1. try to change the 40 pin IDE Address bus. it might be faulty
2. the software NERO might be corrupt
3. there might be some problem with the operating system
4.what is your C:/ partition size ?

Hi,
have u tried, reinstalling or updating the Combo Drive's firmware thru the manufacturer's website?? Please try that, its most the case of older firmware on a new OS or vice versa and also due to corrupt s/ware... Please check and post ur results...
