Exclamation BSNl Broadband Problem

I use an ADSL type broadband connection (which has been configured to automatically connect when windows xp boots up using the IP Address of the ADSL router - no dialers used) , but every time when i connect it to browse or to download , it gets disconnected right in the middle of the download and sometimes all the five LEDs namely the POWER,ADSL LINK and ACT , LAN ACT and LINK just freeze.
I use HUAWEI SmartAX MT880 ADSL Modem.

What might be the possible reasons for this to happen ?

I have positioned the modem to be in between my Desktop Speakers and in front of my Monitor.
Does this have any adverse effect ?

This is my config

1. a straight through RJ-45 cable to ethernet interface to the computer
2. the RJ-11 cable connected to ADSL splitter
3. my phone is connected to the ADSL splitter. the other end of the splitter has got another RJ-11 cable which is connected to the wall socket
4. the power cord is connected to my ups

hi...i am using the same modem with dataone......i used to have that problem.....what i suggest u is that......u dont use the splitter...u connect it directly to the modem...or u can try re configuring it.....disconnection happens a lot with BSNl.....
The placement of ur modem does not have any affect on the connection...its allright

so what you suggest is to connect the RJ-11 cable straight to the wall socket and not to the splitter jack is it

do u have any parrallel telephone/extension, Fax Machine or dial up modem,Junction box in the line.....if yes then disconect that item.

I have the same kind of problem in Huwai MT 882 with my previous usb dial up modem,Multi - Line junction box and a parallel line......and i remove all things and now it solves.

Else keep the modem away from such comp peripherals which you mention above....

If the problem not solves call the BSNL's help line no.

I am using telephone along with the same router without any problem for the last 7 months. (as everybody else) During this period there were problems on 2 or 3 days which was later known to have been due to their server. But only that I am not able to use a telephone with CLI. Also there is no problem in simultaneous use of phone and router.

So I dont think you you need to remove the telephone or splitter. And I feel not using the splitter is advisable or practicable.

Further I have been keeping it very close and in between the system and monitor.
