AFAIK P2's fastest processor was 350mhz,check the socket number,if it is socket 7 then its a p2,if it is written socket 378 then is a p3.

Post Re: P2 Or P3

PII was never Socket 7...

Socket 7 was used till Pentium MMX 266 Mhz

Then came Pentium II with Slot 1

the standing type......

If u say u have Heatsink and then chances r that u might have AMD as

pentium 1 never crossed 300 mark and was socket 7 with heatsink and FAN
pentium II was a Slot Peocessor FAN and Heatsink on SIDE instead of being on Top.... you can see Pentium II printed on IT

Initally Pentium III was also launched as Slot 1 Processor but till 533 Mhz

then arrived new Pentiums III Slot / Tray processors just like Socket 7 but used Socket 378 with FAN and Heatsing on Top

In ur case none of the above Fits so it might be AMD K6-2 433 Mhz

use CPU-Z to check what is make and model of ur CPU

http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...load-6980.html

and do inform what was ur findings.........

ANXIOUS to Know the Results....
happy hunting
