Dvd riter trouble (urgent)

hi guyz...got some problem here.
i recently purchased LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S and it has started giving some trouble.
it can write cd's coolly, tho was giving trouble wid d cheaper writex ones...no problem yet wid d moser baer ones.
it is giving trouble wid d dvd ritin from day 1...i am using d intex dvd-r media and d recurrent scenario is dat i can burn d first dvd ok...but d second dvd just doesnt get burnt.
i also dont hav no power supply rite now cos its getting repaired.
d dvd which doesnt get burnt along wid d previous writex cds which weren't gettin burnt...all give a peculiar sound wen in d drive....like d laser going tak..tak..tak

shud i try more expensive and reliable media.... shud i get my power supply back... shud i get my lens cleaned... ???

plz help me...i hav some urgent riting to do!!

forgot to mention 1 thing...my friend burned 6 dvd's of LG flawlessly yesterday wid my riter in his pc...

why are u risking ur new writer with cheap media?
try out better - quality media from Sony/HP.
if that doesn't solve the problem, take out the drive and claim a replacement/repair from ur reseller.
Must be under warranty.
Just don't tell hem u used cheap media

didnt know dere were going to be such effects of using cheap media....d cd riter i earlier had gave no truble....gess dvd riters dont work dat way. Can i use LG media tho??
