CD Writer

My Benq CD writer (52x24x52) stopped reading stamped CDs (like those come with digit) and recognise them as CD-R blank media. Although earlier it was reading all types of CDs but from one fine day this problem started. I'hv re-installed windows and used all windows versions, drive has the latest firmware. Plz help me out so that I can also read stamped CDs.

Does it read all other types of CDs? How old is your drive?
You know, over a period of time Optical drives start to behave awkwardly.Even my 4 year old Samsung CD-ROM started to misbehave.It started reading CDs at its own will!!

I got my self a new Sony DVD writer DRU 810A.It cost me 3.2k.Its pretty good.
