Default IS it OVERHEATING???


I hav intel p4 3.0 ghz processor with HT.
i hav 2 Hard disks, 1 SATA of 160 GB and 1 PATA of 80 GB.
ram is 512 MB
my comp starts wid a temp of 40C but in about 40 mins it goes upto 52C. it becomes stable after reaching 56C.
Is my cpu overheating N how can i Prevent it....wat's da ideal temp...

No it is not overheating.....Prescott are meant to run hot......their temperature can go up to 75 to 80 when it starts to throttle....and if u want u can add a 120mm fan exhaust and 80mm intake which i am doing it idles at around 48 to 52

I think the temps are fine. The pentium 4's does run at high temps, especially the PRESCOTT. The threshold is 70-75C, correct me if I am wrong.

Hey When i open speed fan . In tthat it shows that my one fan is not working i.e it is 0rpm. IN Bios when i enable CHA1 warning. It says that it is not detected. What shld i do?
