DVD Writer Problem

Hi Guys
I hav DELL INSPIRON 6000 with NEC DVD burner.
sometime after writing a dvd the writer itself is not able to read it but the same dvd works fine in other combo drives...
plz let me know what may b the prob. n ofcourse any solutions too!!!

Anywaz.......if u have a DELL..........id suggest u bug their tech support........uv anywaz spent a lot on buying a Branded comp...........

ur problem is more H/W in nature, n uv posted this in the wrong section.....

Flash the firmware. NEC drives are so easy to flash. Trust me I have one.
Get the latest firmware from this site http://www.micheldeboer.nl/firmware/

dell wont give u support if u flash it......trust me....just make those @#$% give u a new one if its still in warranty.........

You lose the warranty only if you use unofficial/hacked firmware

its compatibility issuse many brands suffers from it. ie u write 4rm one and unable 3 read frm another. no standarisation of read/write procedure results in such probs.

once a cd or dvd is written it wont read until it is removed
read other dvd and then the written one
if no vain possibaly a lens cleaning cd will do
