i think my smps fan is not working properly.
i hav one more fan on the side of cabinet which i am sure is working good.

whats the problem??
my hdd is @ 47'C, whats the ok level of temp of hdd 7200rpm?

dont worry about speedfan....

clearly u have a poor air flow...
do u have fans at the fromt of ur case....

47c is a bit too high... although it will not kill ur HDD but is not a good temp....

42-43c is fine......

ok,

take a 2 sided adhesive tape..... now purchase one of those Rs. 50/- fans....

cut about 1 sq. inch adhesive tape and stick it to the middle of the fan..... and now stick the fan on the top of the HDD....... now the fan will blow air on the HDD and the temperature will decrease to 40c we hope....

this is a great thing to do and in all the systems that i have no fans on the front... i take care of my HDD in this manner...... and this works great.... and perfectly silent....

in my main system... i have the HDD just in front of the 2 front fans..... this is the place where all the air in my system enters..... so my HDD is as good as kept out of the case with a fan on it....
it remains very cool....

I have an additional fan similar to the one connected on side.
How to connect it to motherboard, what type of plug does i should search for.
A picture of the connector would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

i was having the same problem as ashfame, and was having same no. of fans in my PC at the same places as he,....But i did nothing as i thought it would be OK.( a bit lazi).
finally in 2-3 days smps gone, some noise started coming from it, and we had to replace it. now everything is OK.
so whatever u want to as soon as possible.
