I've shortlisted the items, since its an upgrade.
Please suggest the price of the following(Nehru Place, New Delhi, if Possible):

2. A good nvidia6150 + n430 chipset mobo.

3. 1 GB DDR 400 Transcend

4. Ati Radeon 1600XT

5. Seagate 160 GB SATA II

6. Zebronics Antibotic Cabinet

7. PSU-450W(Powersafe)

Also, Please suggest a good price for my old rig:

P4 Prescott 2.4Ghz
Intel 865 GBF
512 MB DDR Hynix
Samsung 80 GB SATA
Ati Radeon 9600
Creative Live! 5.1 DE

All those softwares require good openGL capability, specially OpenGL 2.0 (IDEA)

Athlon64 3200+ is good enough for CAD, simply overclock it to 3500+ speed

Memory & rest is good

since u have a Radeon 9600 already stick to it, don't buy any other graphics card, that is enough for your needs, in case u wanna buy anyway, Better go for a 6600GT PCIe or if possible a 7600GT PCIe, from NVIDIA

Default ur config is good

Ur AMD config sounds GOOD enough for all the things u want to do just a personal Opnion cause I don't use ATI I would recommend Nvidia 6800 GTX or 7800 if the Budget permits

I second that. Better opt for Nvidia. Because in this category it takes away the prize from ATi. But if we were talking about X1900 from ATi, then Nvidia doesnt even come close.

there is absolutely nothing wrong in getting a 1600XT
it is a very good card.
usually ATI cards will perform better for that money... but lack in som imp features....
so itś a personal choice.....

Transcend, ok but also take a look at the CORSAIR valueselect. TOO good.\
Dont buy a single stick of 1GB. Take 2 X 512MB sticks, put them on the first and third Ramslot and fly in dual channel mode.

Also if 1 of ur modules go bad, u still have 512MB as backup 4 sometime.

And if the budget permits, go for the SUPER LANBOY cabinet from ANTEC and get an ANTEC SMARTPOWER2 or TRUEPOWER 400W at least.
U will NEVER regret it.
