Default ~~{serious cd burning problems ! ! ! !

am having various problems my combo drive like

#not able to write over the speeds of 16x; it gives burn process failed !
#even at speed of below 16x the cd is not burned correctly & can not be read from other computer;it causes computer to hang or cd files are shown empty via windows explorer;however there is no error msg during burn time.
#if by chance a cd is corretly burned and is readable on other computer;then is can't be copied;the error supllied is INVALID MS-DOS FUNCTION or DATA REABUNDANCY OR CYClic ERROR
#if some disc's have very little scrathes is also not read means i can't copy it.however i tried the same cd on my friends computer who has exact the same combo drive in model no.

i have a athlon 3000+,msi-k8m800,SATA hard drive,sony combo,win-xp-sp2,nero-6.3,

Go and upgrade your writer's firmware. That should help!

If it doesn't then, simply go for another replacement.;D
