Default BIOS upgrades.

Hi.
I just wanna know what's a BIOS upgrade and when is it needed.
Where can I find new BIOS for my PC? I use a PIII machine. The BIOS in my PC is as follows:
Program: Unicore BIOS Agent Version 1.9
BIOS Date: 10/04/01
BIOS Type: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
BIOS ID: 10/04/2001-i810-NS366-6A69MV3PC
BIOS Eval: BIOS-N-2M (2K011004)
Chipset: Intel Whitney 82810E rev 3
Superio: NSC 363 rev 12 found at port 2Eh
Can anyone please find it for me? Atleast provide me with links

Ya, your BIOS is 5 years old and if you upgrade it then maybe your PC will become a bit fast, but take my advice, unless there is some problem with the BIOS, don't take the risk to update it orelse if something goes wrong while updating the BIOS, your motherboard 'may' get damaged forever.

Search the mobo manufactureres site for BIOS revision.
WARNINGlz check what updts have been made to the current available version over the version u have, and whether those updates r a pure necessity for u, else dont go for a hassling upgrade(thats what upgrading BIOS is). Though i dont feel that its gonna damage ur mobo, but perfect execution is trouble free....but y bother widout ne need.

Updating bios will only make motherboard more stable and supporting some new features, if mentioned. Thats it.
