DVD writer works with Linux & Win 98 but not with Win XP
I have brought a Sony DVD Writer(OEM).I works well with Win 98 and Linux. But it is not working when in Win XP.
I can see it as DVD-RAM Drive inside XP.But I am unable to read or write cd/dvd from this drive.
Plz help me get rid of this problem.
Thanks a lot.

Is the drive displayed under My Computer?
Since you can read and write, your drive happens to be installed on your PC. Check whether the drive appears under device manager. If it does, remove it and restare your PC, then it will get reinstalled and should appear. If this doesnt work, Tell me."The way I see myself, so confused, so sophisticated."

Re: DVD writer works with Linux & Win 98 but not with Win XP
Now its working fine!!
I had another CD writer connected to my PC. The CD writer was in master mode and the DVD writer was in slave mode. After I unpluged the CD writer and once I set DVD writer as master I started working fine.
Thanks you DeSmOnD dAvId !
