take a long time to show the contents of DVD/CD

I have purchased a new PC with sony DVD Writer. Whenever I insert any CD/DVD in the drive, it takes unreasonably long time to show the contents in the explorer. please help

There's Nothing you can do for this problem! Its a problem with almost all Sony DVD writers. The cd/dvd recognition takes almost 15 secs.

Lets hope Sony solves this with a firmware upgrade in the future.

Is your HDD and DVD-Writer in the same IDE Cable......If yes..then Plz seperate them...by using another IDE cable as secondary....
