will ATA133 hard disk run on mobo with only ata100 support?

Hi all,

I am planning to buy a maxtor 80GB ata133 hdd. My pc's mobo supports ata100 as per the manual. Will this hdd still work fine with the mobo?

BTW why not seagate barracuda? plz elaborate.

Anyway forget it. You are right abt what you stated. Guess what, I did not buy Maxtor HDD after all, i took seagate. Since i am not going to get any benefit out of maxtor anyway.

BTW is it true that seagate accquired maxtor on dec 2005. :roll:
