Default send and receiving packets figures changing dratically


I my local area connection status the figures of sent and receive packets are changing drastically even if i did not download a single file.
Due This problem my internet charges are being heavy
Please provide me a solutions.
I m using touchtel broadband with the scheme of 1 GB free download.

How they sent only some information in some time(i.e.act according to the author)so i think it's not possible due to spyware....Better rajesh_verma can list out the software he have installed so on seeing it we can say that May be some software do updated silently....And which r they...

maybe the packets r just within ur lan...... to get a better idea see the network graph that is in windows....

also, use some firewall so that u can grant acess to the programs u want them to connect

download "Network Traffic Monitor" from the internet. Shows you which program is using how much of your bandwidth
