Default SONY DVD ROM drive


I am using a 64 mb celeron 700mhz pc.When playing vcd or dvd movies with "sony dvd drive" ,the hard disk gets acessed as virtual memory while this is not the case while playing vcds in my old cd drive.what is the reason.any solution?

If you have only 64 MB RAM, obviously the HDD is going to get accessed a lot.
How do you know the HDD didn't get accessed while playing VCD's in your old drive?
Anyways, how is even a problem as long as DVD playback is smooth?
