Default hardware problems???

I am using p4 1.6 a mercury 845GLV mothboard i have a lg dvd combo drive sometimes whenever i put a cd in my drive the whole system just goes off and to get it restarted i have to detach the power cord from my cpu and put it in again.Please tell what the possible cause can be .I have tested my dvd combo in other system and it seems to work fine and to my utter shock a samsung cobo ran cool on my system.iI am totally confused help me.[/b]

As u hv said that ur Combo drive is working fine on other system, then i would recommend that u please check the power connector and the IDE cable that goes into the Combo drive. BTW, did u plug the Samsung drive with the same power connector and/or IDE cable (that was holding ur COMBO) ?? I guess tat cant be possible (if u are saying that ur Combo is fine). I guess its the power connector problem.Please post other details of ur system like ur OS and wether ur using SP2 or wat service pack (related to the OS version ur using)..
