Default RAM Trumble


I have a fully loaded Pentium III 633MHz Compaq Presario 5000 series modelwith 40 GB HDD, Windows XP SP2,Pixel view PLAYTV Pro 2. 12 USB ports ,256 SD DDR 133 RAM ,DVD Rom ,CD Writer
The problem lies here that i upgraded from 128 SD DDR 133 RAM to 256 RAM but if connect my older RAM my Pc keeps restarting saying
"Windows has recovered from serious error A log of error has been created"

same prob.
install rams in diffarant module(interchange)
if prob not fixed u may have to install only 256

What motherboard are you using? I doubt if a motherboard for a P3 633 would support DDR. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but according to this page, the first Intel chipset to support DDR was the 845 which was meant for P4 and Celeron processors only.

Nemesis, I sceond you. Duel you should check the RAM that you had and you purchased. AFAIK, DDR starts from 200MHz and there is no 133MHz DDR that I am aware of.
