Please try updating the drivers for ur DVD drive via the manufacturers website.Sumtimes, the CD ROM also fails to recognise its own file system wich is CDFS,so by jus updating the drivers/files solves the problem. are u using WIN XP with SP1 or SP2 ???

cheers n e-peace....

I too have problem of TOSHIBA DVD-Rom SD-M1712. It reads Digit DVD in Windows98SE but fails in Windows Xp-SP2.
Error message is:
"Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compitable with Windows"
Any help?
