Default Cd drive is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


I hav a combo drive
It is not writing even not reading dvds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please help me

it might be that the bus of cd-rom is loose either
from cd-rom or from motherboard .......
me too having the same prob few days back
try it out ...........i think u will get the +ve results

if u dont use DVDs for a long time, evntually the combo doesnt read the DVDs after some time

What nonsense? Its nothing like that...Just that with prolonged periods of inactivity dust & moisture accumulates on the drive lens which needs removal. But after that drive continues to read DVDs normally...

In this case, the problem seems to be something else...Try cleaning the lens...Also see if all the cable connections are intact...Also check whether the drivers of the drive are not corrupted & hav been updated accordingly...
