Default Weird Desktop - please help


i am posting the screenshot along with the queries

model - dell 700m centrino

is this a windows xp problem or display driver error? or just some windows settings which i am not aware of?

1. Go to My Computer. Select Tools menu->Folder Options. First option in General tab is to be changed from "Show common tasks in folder" to "Use Windows Classic Folders"

2. Right-click on Taskbar and select Properties. Here, the last option "Hide inactive icons" is to be unchecked. Also, it is possible that you may have set certain software to not show their icons. For eg, battery may be set in Control Panel (Power Options I think)

3. Right-click on Taskbar and uncheck "Lock the taskbars"... If this is not the problem, not sure what to do.
