Default SLI Problems

I got two 7800GTX gfx cards and tried to put them in SLI. i used an ASUS A8N SLI Premium motherboard and Antec True Control 550W Power Supply. In idle the system works fine but when i start any gfx application like a game or 3dMark the system just gets off . Please Help

interesting problem. as i dont have any exp with SLI..i can just guess

try updating ur drivers of the mobo and gfx cards.
make sure the bridge thing(not sure wat its called) connected properly
make sure both the gfx cards are not on a single power cable.

if all else fails. try using only 1 gfx card and c if it works..try running some benchmarks on it.

also the drivers have to be configured for each game for sli to work properly (auto setting r there..even so try it out).

as you have a 550 watts smps..wat are the other things you have on your system (no. of hdds, fans, LED )

i tried running each card in single mode both runs fine, benchmarks run fine.

Drivers of all are the latest, my power supply has two 6 pin pci x connectors to connect to the gfx card which i am using.

But it still crashes(System goes off)

Disconnect both the 6 pin PCIe power connectors from yur smps and connect using the dual 4-pin to 6pin molex connector cable that came with yur graphics card.
Uninstall the drivers and reinstall them.
Make sure the monitor cable plugged to the second card only.
