Default "Access is denied" while installing hardware

Hi
I'm facing a problem installing drivers for my TV Tuner card as ADMINISTRATOR ! It shows to be copying the required files but at the end it says "An error occured during installing the Hardware: Access is Denied." I'm undoubtedly the administrator of the PC b'coz I'm the only user.
Please help me out. I need me TV Tuner card up and running as soon as possible.
Thanx a million.

Being the only user does not make you an administrator... WinXP creates an administrator account that is not generally shown during the welcome login screen... You need to either enable the administrator account on the login screen or change your login account priviledges to that of administrator... Most probably, I think the administrator account would have been created without a password... So, just go to Control Panel, select Administrative Tools, right click "Computer Management". Choose Run as... and select the Administrator account with blank password. Once you get there, there should be an item on the left tree for "Local Users and Groups" under "System Tools". Go there, select Users, and in the list of Users, select your user ID and in that go to "member of" tab. Add the Administrator Group priviledges to your account. Now, you have administrative privieldges...

If this doesnt work, or if you are already admin, post TV Tuner brand and model number.

Hey! Thanx for your prompt reply. I'm definitely sure I got Administrative privileges. Still it gives me the error "Access is denied"
I've got a Pixel View Station Card based on Brooktree(now conexant) 878.
Another thing I feel worth a mention is that whenever I reinstall Windows XP I donot face this problem. It installs the driver
But this time I accidently removed the drivers and when I try to reinstall the drivers the story begins.

Thanx again
