blue screen

hey guys
i have a desktop with internal drive of 1Tb (Seagate)
yesterday the hard drive started making unusual noise and when i tried to shut down computer blue screen of death appeared
can anyone please tell me how can i know if my hard drive is failing or not?
is there any diagnostic tool for checking hard drive?

Use HDtune to check health of the hard disk.

hd tune will check fot bad errprs whereas the sound points to spindle motor error or the plates getting stuck.

yup the sound is for spindle problem but what about bsod?the spindle problem may be temporary but with hd tune op can check his hdd to check if there is any other problem.
Btw hd tune can show hdd problems,bad health etc.isn't it?

btw offtopic,does some oe deleted the 3rd,4th and 5th posts as i am not able to find it or is there any problem with my browser?
