Default need help- IDE HDD as Ext USB HDD

I have IDE HDD that now I want to use as ext HDD drive.
Pl. suggest which adapters you get and how much costs apprx. I have one SATA<->PATA convertor but it's not so reliable. It causes HDD hang within 15-20 mins.
Is IDE to USB device stable? Does it map all partitions etc justlike int drive.
Thx

Thanks frends. I just checked a few local comp shops. Most do not have any in stock. They are quoting > 900 Rs and again not telling brand etc. They say it's local brand, no warranty but they will give me 1 - 2 months testing warranty.

BTW is it possible to still make it internal drive only? Do we get anything like IDE to USB cable (if any such cable exists!) and USB pin header adoptor for mobo. Then I can make it internal drive only. i.e. use molex power pin from PSU, connect IDE to USB cable and use USB header adopter to connect it to USB pins on mobo.

That is completely wrong piece of info and price is too high. The price of SATA to USB external casing is little higher, around 700 bucks for the brands like Frontech, Intex etc.
For PATA to USB casings the price will be around 500 bucks max. Also brands like Intex, Frontech, Techcom provide 1 Yrs of warranty.
