Default Problem With LG DVD Writer

Hey guys, I'm having problem with burning DVD's on my 1week old writer.

I've already burned many DVD's till now but today 2 of my DVD's stopped at 4% and throwed "Reset Occurred" error on Nero.

I tried CDBurnerXP but no problem.

I tried googling it out, but the points that were mentioned are...
1. Set SATA Mode to AHCI instead of RAID. Which is already there. So this is not my case.

2. May be something communication problem with USB ports. As I was trying to burn a ISO file from external HDD, I moved it to internal HDD and tried, still problem not solved.

But, lastly I was guessing my DVD Writer went kaput, but then again I successfully burned Linux Mint 12 without any hassle.

Seems like the problem is with only that particular ISO file. It's Win 7 ISO. I already have that ISO burned on a DVD. I tried copying that DVD same error.

Though the things I'd try now are...
1. Try burning the same ISO from Linux
2. Try burning other files and verify the DVD Writer.

I'll report back after trying this two things within tomorrow morning.

But for now, anything else that I may have missed or ideas what's going wrong??

Please help!!

UPDATE
Tried burning using Brasero. Failed

Tried burning other ISO's failed.

Now more few things to try...
1. 2GB ISO's
2. Changing Sata Ports (Though I think this is not the problem)

UPDATE
On Nero Disc Speed I'm getting POWER CALIBERATION AREA ERROR (037303)

4GB. That's what I'm guessing may be its only the problem with larger files. Still many shadowed areas. Will troubleshoot tomorrow.

4gb single file or total data.. you need to change format if you have to write single 2+GB file.. Few weeks ago I had reset error.. I wasted 2 DVD's .. I was trying to write 4MB Total data . their were photos which I needed urgently to transfer and I didn't had pen drive that moment. So the DVD. I wasted 2 dvd's and in third I added some more extra data and it was successful ..

conclusion problem was because of less Data I believe. Reset error problem must be related to Data.. And before writing do a test write so you can save DVD's

4GB ISO File.

Anyway, I sorted it out, the DVD Writer was faulty from the very beginning.

Accidentally I noticed my old DVD's that I burned with this writer today and all of them have blank tracks in between.

So maybe somehow it didn't throwed any error but the burning was not ok.

Will be going for Replacement.

^^ always write optical discs with verification option turned on - though it consumes a bit more time it's fruitful in the long run.

I got the same problem with my LG DVD writer and the reason was windows resetting the Transfer mode for that IDE Channel to "PIO only" whenever the system starts.

So I changed it to "DMA if available" by using some registry fix and it worked perfectly.

Well it's a SATA DVD Drive. I don't know if these PIO / DMA options are available because when I checked properties they were not there.

Need to check again.

^^ Mine is also a SATA drive. but these options are available under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. You have to see all primary and secondary channel's properties.
If any channel shows current transfer mode as PIO then you have to change it to DMA if available.
