My passport essential SE

I am going to buy WD My passport Essential SE 1 TB USB 3.0 from Letsbuy
What is the transfer speed of this stuff ? On reading and writing ?
I came to know that usb 3 device can transer data upto 600MBps.. but the review of this hard disk shows that it has got only 70 MBps... how this happen ?????

^^ plug it into a usb 3.0 port to get better speed

600 Mbps (Mega bits per second).
70 MBps (Mega Bytes per second).

8 bits = 1 byte.

but usb 3.0 support 5Gbps .. which is 600 MBps ??????????

My WD Elements 3.0 gives me about 70mbps speed and about 20mbps on 2.0 .

I know its true for a fact, but they are not real world speeds, rather just "acclaimed" speeds in a testing condition. So you won't get that much speed. I have the same drive and get speeds from 70-100MB/s.
