IDE to USB 2.0 : "Device Can Perform Faster"
I bought external 3.5' IDE to USB 2.0 case (local one) at the price 550/-
- Connected 80GB IDE. (with or without jumper)
- When I connect USB cable to motherboard USB port (rear or front)......Getting message "
Device can Perform Faster.........
"
- Checked the USB in device manager (it's enhanced)
Transfer speed is also very low : 1-2 MB/sec
Is there any problem with case or HDD ??

Re: IDE to USB 2.0 : "Device Can Perform Faster"
just cause the case says USB 2.0 doesn't mean it have 2.0 connector & port. do you have spare cable for the casing? try it.

Re: IDE to USB 2.0 : "Device Can Perform Faster"
I tried other 40Gb IDE
Again, I am getting the same speed with other HDD (1MB/sec or less)
Also, with new cable...Same speed
Is the case faulty or its not 2.0 ??
(How much speed one should get using 2.0 case ? )
