Cool how to decide on the model of RAM?


i am getting a new pc and want to get a 1600mhz ram on a z68 mobo n i5 2500k. but i have seen there are more than 1 models of kingston hyperx 4gb x1 sticks based on latency. how do i decide the specific model suitable?

get ram modules with lowest possible latency at a given speed but they will be pricey too

@op why not get a gskill or corsair if i am correct gskill has better latency given the price is same

It will depend on your budget. Most of the people opt for CL9 because of its lower price. But if your budget permits, then you can opt for CL8 modules.

+1 G.skill is the best dont mind spend 300 bucks extra on performance RAM atleast they yield much lower timings then the value packs

You're getting an 8gig Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz cl9 for a good price. IMO get this and be done with it.
