Wink Recover data from dead pc

my pc was crashing for pas few days without any known reason and i had decided to replace it, so today when i started to back up my data to my Laptop it finally became dead and i am very frightened about losing everything i had collected in the past 3-4 years. most of them are videos and photos with my school and college friends and all the files on which i have worked in the past years on Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop.

my harddisk is Seagate 160 G.B. sata.

please figure out some way that i can recover and transfer everything to my Laptop and save my hardwork.

thanks in advance....

@DOST_FRIEND59: u need a bootable CD/DVD to recover the data...
just use Linux Mint or Bart PE or Hiren's boot CD to recover data...

another method:
take out the HDD & connect it to frnds PC.

1. get an external case for the hard drive (the sata->usb cables may be included)
2. put your 160 gb disk in the case
3. connect to laptop
4. get your stuff back.

you should have told us taht the pc was not working.

is the motherboard light on (the small led)?
have you checked your power supply?

case will be 500-1000. cables/convertor around 50-500.

1) Connect your HDD with another Working PC
OR
2) Boot from any LIVE Linux CD and recover data to USB drive !!!
OR
3) Purchase a USB HDD case for your HDD and connect it to your Laptop !!

@OP: buy a sata to usb converter @ 300/- and then recover those data.

Or go to any friend's place & recover your data via his/her PC.

wanna save money >> go to frds place [suggested by all] bt only if he doesnt mind keeping his pc ON for longtime for you.

imo, best option is get external casing & do it @ your place only

Just get the cables, it'll cheaper. Plus, you may still be able to use that 160gbon the HDD.
