3HDDs on local 450W SMPS ? 19A on +12V
i bought 1TB WD caviar green today. but i am worried if its safe to install it as i have already installed 2 HDDs on my local smps. complete PC specs are :
CPU : pentium dual core E5300 2.6GHz [running @ stock speed]
RAM : 4GB DDR2 800MHz
GPU : sparkle GT240 1GB DDR3 [stock speed]
HDDs : 250GB WD caviar blue and 500GB hitachi
ODD : LG burner
mobo : ASUS P5KPL-AM/PS
2X 80mm LED fans [i keep them off during winter]
1X 92mm fan [chassis fan]
PCI based USB card
SMPS : Hytech 450W with 19A on +12V rail.
i had OCed CPU to 3.4GHz and GPU to 630Mhz [from 550Mhz] when i used to play GTA4 and it was running fine.
should i install the new HDD
WD caviar green needs 0.55A on +12V.
i dont want to buy new SMPS

Your PSU will handle that easily but it is suggested that you upgrade to VX450 PSU from Corsair.

Re: 3HDDs on local 450W SMPS ? 19A on +12V
Dont worry it will work fine, But yes keep the OC in check. If possible reduce GPU Clock. Will strain the local PSU less.
Although I reccomend to completely remove the Overclock as its only a Local PSU
If you can spend around Rs.2000, get a FSP Saga II 500w. Great VFM PSU.
But yes if you add this HDD Remove atleast one OC.

Well, for 600w PSU you should really get Corsair GS600.
Best of luck.

Don't go with CM 600W.
Either opt for Corsair GS600 or opt for Corsair CX 600W V2.

There's no point in getting CX 600v2 when one can get GS600 by paying only 200 bucks more
