Default retrieve data?


hello friends, i may be posting in the wrong section but i just have a general question. My laptops motherboard is dead and it wont turn on. I dont want to replace the mb, since its costly. My question is can i retrieve data of my hard drive. And any idea how much it may cost. Thanks in advance.

if the HDD of the laptop is ok u can do it how old is ur laptop if ur laptop has a sata HDD then u can plug in to any desktop & copy the data for that unplug ur HDD & see

hi im not sure if its sata hard drive. My hard drive is fine. However my laptop is 4yrs old and is compaq v6500. Pls let me know.

Once you have removed the hard drive from your laptop.Please check the attached picture,it will help you recognize if your hard drive is SATA or IDE.Accordingly just buy a portable HDD casing (sata/ide) and connect your laptop Hard drive to it and plug it to any computer.You should be able to see your data.
