Default DVD riter acting SRK ! ! !


ya u read it rite. just like SRK`s haklana, my dvd riter doesnt rite properly. It rites on RW`s bt when its time on only dvd-r`s, it pops up error or aborts mission. have this liteon dvdr player. is it dead or on its way or any other thing ??? wasted my sony dvdr

Try updating the firmware of the drive & also cleaning the lens &see else get a new drive

Try cleaning with a CD Cleaner and see if it helps.

Reconnecting all wires and cables of the drive also might help

Sadly it looks like your DVD drive is dead. Buy a new one.
But you can always try cleaning the lens with any lens cleaner flied before buying a new one. (I doubt over the probability of success in this trick)

Yes, if this trick works then use the DVD-RW as long as you want. But if it has gone bad and cant be repaired then go for a new one. Get the Asus 24x DVD-RW for 1k.

thanx 4 ur replies. bt most surprising is that it rites a RW & refuses R. will clean it & rite with lower speed say 4x. or is the media [dvd-r] defective ??? tried with sony .

DVD-R availability is more than +R..
also +R is considered as better quality

guess bad luck ! ! !

even after riting @ lower speed 4x. sony dvd burnt sucessfully. bt after checking the dvd, it doesnt showup in explorer just pops outta the tray. & later shows no data in dvd. bt dvd is burnt.

so is it dead or any other tricks & if i were 2 buy new drive should it b ide or sata & which company ???

every company has issues with customers...
like I had with Samsung (its tray opening problem with mine)
...LG not reading some of the DVDs...vice versa
some years back Liteon got the Digit gold buy award...
so choose wisely

bt y does it happens with dvd & no cd ??? i dont think any1 had probem with either riting/reading on cd or their burners.

who said its not a problem with CD...my LG DVD writer doesnt read or write CDs...it have no problem with DVD...donno whats the problem...my 5 years old lappy combo can read almost all CDs

got a new dvd riter, its Sony. bt in nero, finalise dvd is greyed out ppl. how do i get it back while riting dvd ???
