Default Compaq c783tu laptop RAM upgrade

Hi

I have a Compaq Presario C783tu laptop purchased in summer 2008 with Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.73 GHz, 512 MB DDR2 PC5300 667Mhz RAM, 120 GB HDD.

I am planning to upgrade my RAM.

My question is can i plug in a 2GB single slot Transcend PC 6400 800 Mhz DDR2 RAM into my laptop. Will my laptop support it.

Will this RAM module will work with my older 512 MB slot ???

Please help......

Vishal

No, you can't run 800Mhz ram with 667Mhz ram theoretically.
But in my downloading laptop, I run a 2GB 800Mhz ram with a 1GB 667Mhz ram without any problem. So....
