Question Signal Triangulation


I guess this is not exactly the right pace to be asking this..But why not give a try...so Here is my Problem
I am attempting to build a transmitter locating device. so instead of using a single antenna and a S meter, I thought of using a 3 antenna system. Signal triangulation, kind of. Could you please tell me if there is some simple way in which this system could be implemented. Also, I would highly appreciate if any1 could advice regarding the type of antenna to be used.

You seem to understand the principle of triangulation, so I won't go into an explanation of that. To put it into practice, the first thing you need is a directional antenna. It can be a loop antenna, a yagi or a reflective one like a parabolic dish.

A parabolic antenna is not really a viable option unless you live in a more advanced country like the US where you can buy just about anything. With care and patience, loop or yagi antennas can be made at home, although detailed guidance is outside the scope of a forum discussion. A differential yagi may be the best option.

Well..I understand the very bare essential and antennas are out of my understanding. So, I would be very thankful if you could kindly elaborate a bit more..provide some reliable links...I ve done some searching but some of them seem to contradict...And one more thing...the transmitter frequency is 144MHz.. Thats going to simplify a lot of things right...?
