is my HDD got bad sector or crashed ??

i formatted my C drive by using Window XP cd (NTFS)

then was trying to nstall d window...but @ d reboot time (when XP setup file loaded) PC got restart and follows normal procedure (it boot from CD)...


then i switch to windows 7....
in 7 ...i cant even see d single partition ... (

i tried command prompt ...it shows only C directory ....

what would i do ??? buy new HDD or repair old one ???

reboot your PC with the XP disk and follow the normal Xp installation procedure - when you reach at the HDD partition part can you see the D drive ??

no...i cant see d D drive.....

Right click My Computer: Manage: Disk Management: Take a screenshot using Windows 7 snipping tool and post here.

@ milanmhatre - do what tkin suggested and scan your HDD with HDTune Pro - it will show you if the HDD has bad sectors or not and post a couple of HDTune pics - like SMART/Health tab, Error scan Tab ( after doing a test ) etc.
