VIA 6308P is dual port IEEE 1394 controller used as an add in chip by mobo manufacturers...

IEEE=Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

They basically develop standards of connectivity...Firewire or IEEE1394 being an example.

Others IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standard; IEEE 802.11 Wireless Networking standard.

Get the drift?

1394a=400mbps BW
1394b=800mbps(upto 3200mbps in later rev) BW

If you can't read, then probably no one can help you. Atleast read the first paragraph.
