Troubleshooting: Disabling Onboard Sound Card and Uninstalling necessary drivers
Hi everyone!! I just bought a new sound card. Problem is.. the installation instructions say I need to disable any existing sound card first before installing the new one. Does an onboard sound card count as "an existing sound card"? And if so, how do I disable it?
Device Manager dhows the following drivers under the category "Sound, video and game controllers":
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
TV Capture Card WDM TV Tuner
TV Capture Card WDM Video Capture
Video Codecs
Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver (WDM)
Which ones do I need to uninstall? Any help's appreciated guys! And I need that help FAST!!!!

Like megamind said, the drivers wont get uninstalled automatically but suggest u to leave them as it is..do not uninstall them (this is not required at all)..ur new card drivers should install just fine.

Sry fr that dude.. but thats just what I feel.... pushing the bass down a bit and cranking the treble tp abt 60% balances things up nicely... plus there are always equalizers!!! Don't get me wrong.. these speakers pack some serious sound in them at this price point!!

Yup I have. Disabled the onboard sound card from the BIOS.. that took care of the drivers already installed, then I uninstalled the software, then installed the new Sound Card, installed its drivers, softwares etc and everythings perfect now!!
Thanks a lot for your help guys!!!
