Default CPU Utilisation 100%

The CPU utilisation is for some reason always at the 100% mark. I rebooted the device but to no avail. What could be the problem?

The laptop is also very hot right now. Is it related to the above problem?

Kindly help.

See in taskmanager if there is a process called regvsr.exe. Its one of most common processes that keep utilisation 100%.

If there is, you are infected with virus.

EDIT: Check it with an online antivirus like this.

Ya he is right. Check for unwanted programs in the task manager and end that process. regsvr.exe is a type of virus, so scan your PC with a good anti-virus.

Monitor your task manager, they will give your answer. What is your system config and OS ??

I killed a few running processes but many a times killing some used to cause my pc to hang so i refrained from killing most of them.
I am using a core2duo lappy, 3gb ram, 250GB, a decent ati card.

It is running cool and utilisation is under 20%. I have F secure anti v got it free from airtel.
I will scan for viruses.

Thanks everyone for the response.

P.S.How to close this thread?
