I just installed my 2*2 GB RAM and after logging in to Win 7 x64 I am noticing that in partition C (the OS is installed in this) the space is drastically decreased! It was around 9.5 GB before installing RAM, and now it's just 2.8 GB! What's wrong? My memory was 4 GB and now it's 8 GB. I haven't installed anything but the RAM.
Here,
ye, it is due to page file increase. follow rajesh345's steps. or better change the page file directory to d: or e: if those partitions have moar free space.
ubuntu has much better management. separate partition only for virtual memory known as swap instead of clogging it in ur partitions. much better than windows.
So, Its apparent, that when OP increased the RAM, the OS tried to compensate the Virtual Memory by increasing it in correspondence with the increased amount of memory.
But paging file is recommended to be 1.5 times the amount of RAM. So won't disabling Virtual Memory can cause problems? I hope OP hasn't disabled it and only moved it to other partition.

Even though you have more than enough RAM, some programs may require virtual memory (pagefile). Disabling it will lead to errors. Just enable pagefile to system managed in some other partition.

You can manually assign a separate partition for pagefile in Windows, but yes, Linux does it automatically and if I can remember properly, in Ubuntu's case, without any user interaction required.
Alright, I've set it to Automatic, changing it to Off or not is not effecting the HDD space. Hope it won't create any problem. But I didn't change the, Start >Run >cmd >"powercfg -h off". In fact by doing only this the HDD space got increased, changing the Virtual Memory thing under Windows Advanced Settings doesn't have any effect regarding the HDD space !

Here,
Spoiler:
Is it OK now?
Well, it IS ok now. But (yeah, there's still a BUT) looks like Paging file is set to C drive, and so you can still Gain 8 GB of space in C drive, by shifting it to other drive like D !
Pls post, if you want to go to that route.

Its good then. But if you ever go short of space in C, (which from my experience you will get, sooner or later, since Windows 7 is expert in eating space ), then you know what to do... Just set the Paging file to D, and remove it from C. And you will see an increase space, after a reboot!
All the best.
