seagate freeagent desk hdd problem
guys my brother is having a seagate freeagent desk external hdd of 500gb.yesterday i tried to connect it to my desktop but it is not working,its power lid is not lighting up but day before yesterday it worked fine but now its not.i don't know that is it adapter problem or hdd.pls tell me what could be the problem.and any solution to repair it.
i want to recover files from that hdd.is it possible to do that.if it is then how?please help me guys  .thank you.

1.try changing the power cord to adapter...
2.try changing the adapter itself...

Mostly the USB Cord is to blame here , it becomes loose if we fold it too much , try to adjust the USB Cord attached to HDD maybe it will start.
HDD shouldn;t go kaput like that without any change.

You might get it from electronics stores.Just take the faulty adapter with you and ask the sales ppl for a new adapter with same specs

i have a small doubt,is it the same FSP company of which we get the psu?
