What anti virus are you using? Have you tried scanning the HDD?
If you know to use MS-DOS, then you can recover using the DOS commands. Better solution will be, try to connect your HDD to a Linux/UNIX based system. Then you will be able to access all the data with out any problem. Then you can take a back up and then bring it back to your win 7 and format it.

problem has been solved yesterday it self. no errors thru chkdsk /f and no virus with nod32. connected with ubuntu and removed the folder. recovered the snaps also.

cause of the problem: it was a ref folder as i tried to remove it thru linux, actually it was in recycle folder and pertaining to 0x8009001 visual illustration error in vista/win 7.
