Default DDR RAM query

I have an old MSI K8MM-V mobo(Socket 754 AMD), I already have 1GB DDR RAM stick,

I need to use some additional amount of RAM,

SIS(System information software) says the maximum capacity of my mobo is 4GB, but the MSI site says 2GB,

So whats the actual capacity of my mobo?

According to MSI:-

Code:
Main Memory

• Supports DDR266/333/400 DDR DRAM for two 184-pin DDR DIMMs.
• Supports a maximum memory of 2GB.

According to SIS:-

Code:
Manufacturer MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD
Model MS-7142
Version 1.00
Serial Number

North Bridge VIA K8M400 (VT8380) Revision 00
South Bridge VIA VT8237 Revision 00

CPU AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+
Cpu Socket Socket 754

System Slots 3 PCI, 1 AGP

Memory Summary
Maximum Capacity 4096 MBytes
Maximum Memory Module Size 2048 MBytes
Memory Slots 2
Error Correction None

And in CPU-Z it says DRAM frequency to be 200MHz, so is my RAM stick DDR400 or DDR200?

doesn't really matter. 1 GB DDR modules cost Rs. 2000, wouldn't advise buying it, still if you do buy, don't waste money buying more than 1 GB

1GB is 1550+, I really need at least 1GB more of RAM,

And in CPU-Z it says DRAM frequency to be 200MHz, so is my RAM stick DDR400 or DDR200?

And where can I find Arctic Silver 5 and Arctic Cooling MX2 in Bangalore, searched many electronics and computer shops in SP Road but no one has it.
(Even Cooler Master is not available, all the shops have some paste called "Nepali" one which is Rs.20!!).

Instead of 2GB DDR RAM for 4k, go for a DDR-2 nVIDIA chipset mobo for 3k and 2gb DDR-2 for 1.5k.
0.5k more but the mobo will give very good quality graphics and ddr2 ram will perform even faster than ddr1 rams.

^^ good suggestion, but again finding a Nvidia chipset board for an ancient AMD proccy won't be easy.

@OP, for DDR1 look here: Pentium 4 3.0ghz with HT processor, 512mb 8500GT,1.5gb DDR1 rams. a member is selling it so you may get it cheap.
