Hello, I have a PC with following specs:
Windows XP SP3
Intel P4 CPU @ 3.06GHz
The problem is that whenever I turn off my monitor, my CPU fan starts roaring off loudly even if there are minimal apps running, ie, the apps that usually run on boot. How do I reduce the noise?
Thanks in advance.

Re: CPU makes great sound when monitor is turned off
I don't think there's a problem with the hardware because it remains cool and silent when the monitor in on. The problem is monitor-specific. Recently I heard of some software that can bring down the noise of computer when it is running unnecessarily.
